Ibn Zuhr was born in Seville, Spain. Due to his interest in the medical field, he pursued his studies in the Cordoba Medical University. He served as a doctor in his birth place of Spain. He became a minister and doctor for Abdul Al-Mu’min, the first ruler of Muwahid. He was considered as the first parasitologist to discuss scabies, itch mites, and tracheotomy surgery in great detail. He also wrote books called “Book of Simplification Concerning Therapeutics and Diet” and “Book of the Middle Course concerning the Reformation of Souls and the Bodies”.
