Hazrat Ammar Ibn Yasir (RA) was one of the companions of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). His father, Yasir Ibn Amir, was from the tribe of Qahtan in Yemen. He migrated to Mecca and settled down there by marrying Sumayyah Bint Khayyat, a slave woman.
Ammar converted to Islam under the direct influence of Abu Bakr.
